Shri Shivam Srivastava, Director (Fuel) and Nominated Owner of NTPC Coal Mines visited NTPC Coal Mining HQ, Ranchi on May 22, 2023.On arrival, Shri Srivastava in the august presence of Shri MVR Reddy, RED (Coal Mining) interacted with departmental HODs of Coal Mining HQ.

During the review meeting, Director (Fuel) advised to simplify the procedures in each & every function and particularly reducing the number of purchase orders to be given top priority. He appreciated the efforts of CMHQ in facilitating & guiding the coal mining projects to meet the deadlines.

On May 23,2023 Director (Fuel) during his second day at CMHQ made a review of Taliapalli and Kerendari Coal Handling Plant (CHP). Shri Srivastava directed to implement firefighting systems at CHP and persuaded for awarding of the contract at the earliest for Taliapalli CHP.

In addition, he suggested developing water storage capacity at mines and encouraged sharing emergency resources with other units to meet any emergencies on a mutual assistance mode.

Speaking on Kerendari CHP while taking the review, Shri Srivastava appreciated the Safety norms adopted by the agencies of CHP. He advised to complete the civil works before the onset of monsoon. Director (Fuel) has discussed the organisation restructuring vis a vis formation of NML.

On this occasion, consultancy agency, M/s Ernst & Young made a presentation on “Benchmarking of Transportation Contract ''. The review meeting concluded with formulation of Mine wise responsibility Matrix to be implemented with timeline.
